Experiencing a fault at a Tomizone?
Faults affecting the service can originate from a number of sources. These could include network outages, your device or software settings. Check out these tips to troubleshoot the situation to hopefully resolve the fault.
- Make sure your device is Wi-Fi capable (like Centrino). If you are unsure, ask someone that will know like a computer retailer or an IT Geek.
- If you think the problem is with your device, contact your equipment supplier to check the set up is correct to access public internet Wi-Fi Hotspots. Many company laptops have unique settings that don't allow access to public Wi-Fi Hotspots - in that case, you will have to contact your company IT administrator or supplier - this is not a Tomizone fault.
- If you can not connect to your company network or VPN, check with your company IT Geek or Network Manager for help.
If you are reading this help file at one of the Tomizone locations and you can't log in, ensure you are logging in with a valid Tomizone Voucher or a Tomizone Account with enough credit.
What do I need to use the service?
A Wi-Fi enabled device (like a Centrino laptop, Apple MacBook or a Wi-Fi enabled Pocket PC) and a Tomizone Voucher or Tomizone Account with enough credit.
If your laptop is not Wi-Fi enabled, you can easily purchase a Wi-Fi PC Card from computer retailers. Take your laptop along and they may get it going for you when you purchase the card.
Can I send email from a Tomizone?
Yes. Your email is sent without you having to change any settings on your device. Be aware though that some Internet Service Providers don't allow sending or receiving from other networks that are not theirs. If you have a problem with email, either use your web mail or contact your email supplier or ISP for assistance.

Is a Tomizone secure?
All logins and transactions are encrypted, just like a bank. Look for the padlock symbol and "https" at the start of the URL.
When using a Tomizone, protection is recommended for any computing device and you should always use a firewall and anti-virus software. You are connected to an open access network so we can not guarantee against interception, privacy or mis-use. However, your security is greatly increased by using a VPN (virtual private network) for any company network traffic.
You must assess your own security risk and take precautions.
I have a VPN but I am having trouble connecting - what can I do?
Because there are so many different settings for different software, we can not offer support for this problem. You are advised to discuss these issues with your IT Guru, Network Administrator or VPN supplier.
Do I need to log out?
Only if you want to - it will stop the session details and disconnect you from the Tomizone. You will have to connect again with your Tomizone name and password once you've finished. You can easily stop a connection by either clicking "stop" on the pop up timer or by typing "stop.tomizone.com" in the browser address bar when you are connected in a session.
